“Stare Łazienki” spa house

“Stare Łazienki”, formerly known as “Stare Łazienki Mineralne”, is one of the oldest buildings in the health resort of Krynica-Zdrój. It was built in 1863-1864 on the initiative of Prof. Józef Dietl and designed by Feliks Księżarski – a then-popular Kraków architect. The building was raised in “spa” style with decorative belvederes supported on wooden corbels over central and side avant-corps. The equipment used was very modern for its time: 72 bathrooms provided with 82 bathtubs. The building has retained its function.
